Our Campsite at Picacho

Posted in Family

The term campsite doesn’t seem to really fit where we were in Picacho. It was more of a camp location.  Just like when we went camping in Kofa, we just found a spot that we liked and camped.  The only cost involved for us was the cost of the fuel for the generator.  If it was cooler, we wouldn’t have needed the generator quite as much.  Yes, we could have gone old school and lived without power, but we did want to have fun. lol!  We turned the generator off in the evenings when it cooled down and opened the…

Missing the Desert

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

It’s so much fun when we’re able to get away for a long weekend.  I love the family time, the relaxing, and the quiet.  While it was hot this time around, the mornings and evenings were quite pleasant.  It would have been nice if there would have been a little more breeze to cool us off in the evening, but it was still okay once we settled in for the night. Gone Camping for the Weekend

Posted in Family

We’re heading out to the desert to camp for the weekend.  We’re taking the travel trailer this time.  We’ll only have the water that we take with us.  We will be taking a generator with us, so we can cool off the trailer as needed.  For the most part, we’ll be unplugged and enjoying the great outdoors. Munchkin and D will be riding their dirt bikes.  We’ll do some exploring.  I’ll do some reading.  We’ll relax, play some games, goof around, and just have a fun weekend. I have some posts scheduled, but I’ll be away from the computer. I…

Baseball and Birthday Party

We woke to a warm, windy day.  The trees were swaying to and fro.  Dust devils swirled around.  The sun’s heat baked the red dirt on the baseball field.  The soft billowy breeze gave some reprieve from the heat of the sun beating down on the players and fans.  Shade was scarce.  Water was dearly needed.  The teams battled back and forth to the very end.  Hands were shaken.  Congrats were given.  More than one person walked away a little pink or red and feeling rather parched. The cool ac welcomed us home.  The icy water refreshed our parched lips. …
