Finding Balance

Posted in Family, Homeschooling, and Thoughts

This week, Munchkin will be wrapping up her current school year.  Homeschooling year around can make it difficult at times to really judge when one year ends and the next year begins.  This time, we’re using her main subjects as our guide.  If she completes all her work as planned this week, she’ll happily enjoy a week off from school next week. I’m using this current time to evaluate how I did as a teacher and mom over this past year.  I’m making a few adjustments in how I handle things, and I’m putting my expectations of Munchkin in writing.…

Vacation Bible School Week

Posted in Christian Life, and Family

I may be short on posting and visiting blogs this week as we have VBS each evening.  This year’s theme is High Seas, so we’re going on a cruise.  **grin** Munchkin has invited a bunch of friends, so it will be interesting to see who all is able to make it throughout the week.  D will be scrambling to make it home on time for us to head over to the church.  I’m sure there will be nights that he’ll have to meet us over there. I need to get some snacks together for Munchkin as she usually can’t have…

Random Thoughts

Posted in Family, Homeschooling, and Military Life

My mind is jumping all over the place today, so I figured I would just post one of my random thoughts posts instead of trying to sort out everything.  **grin**  I’ll also be posting random pictures from our camping trip within this crazy, random post. Soon, I’ll be embarking on my 2nd year with the TOS Crew.  You might have seen the new button that I created on my sidebar.  There are several things that will be different with my voyage this year, but I’ll write a little more about that later.  For now, I’m just getting everything ready and…

Let’s Go Fly a Kite

Posted in Family

Munchkin and I picked up a really cute gecko kite on clearance at Target for just over a dollar.  When we went camping over Memorial Day weekend, the kite came along “just in case”.  Munchkin doesn’t remember ever flying a kite.  She did when she was younger, but apparently, she no longer remembers.  She was really looking forward to learning. Daddy did a good job showing Munchkin what she needed to do, but the wind was not blowing quite enough.  Munchkin decided that would not deter her from flying her kite. There were several times that the wind did really…

Foto Friday Challenge: Happy

Posted in Christian Life, Family, Outdoor Adventures, and Photography

As I looked around this week and thought about the theme for this challenge – happy, I realized, once again, how blessed I really am.  A simple photography challenge put my mind in motion.  So many different thoughts filled my head.  This week’s challenge became more of a way to capture the moment of some of the things that make me happy instead of taking “the perfect” shot. Happiness is… My true happiness (joy) comes from within because… I know that no matter what happens in this crazy life that I love I can find peace in my Savior.  I…
