Celebrating Daddy’s Birthday

Project 365 – #010 Munchkin is still sick, so Daddy’s birthday wasn’t very exciting.  We still had a nice day together, and I surprised D with some gluten free peanut butter cup cupcakes.  I made some chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter butter cream frosting.  For fun, I added a peanut butter cup on top and a few candies.  We were all on a little sugar high after eating the cupcakes, but they were delicious.  We watched a movie together, and then D and Munchkin had fun making paper airplanes.  It was not the birthday that we had originally planned, but…

Coke Fountain

Project 365 – #008 Knowing that D collects Coke memorabilia, my sister sent this great Coke fountain to D for his birthday.  The water bubbles out over the ice cubes while a small light illuminates the ice cubes and makes them glow.  It’s a fun addition to our Coke collection.  One day, we hope to be able to have an area in our house (after D retires and we’re permanently located somewhere) where we can display and use the large collection that we’ve put together over the years.  It would be fun to have an old diner motif.  We’ll just…

Our time in the desert camping over New Years was a bit chilly, but it was extremely relaxing and enjoyable.  Due to being plagued with migraines and headaches the last month or so, I’ve needed more rest than normal.  Not only was I able to get some much needed rest, but D was able to get an excellent break from the day-to-day grind at work.  We had simple meals and used mainly disposable plates.
