Our time in the desert camping over New Years was a bit chilly, but it was extremely relaxing and enjoyable. Due to being plagued with migraines and headaches the last month or so, I’ve needed more rest than normal. Not only was I able to get some much needed rest, but D was able to get an excellent break from the day-to-day grind at work. We had simple meals and used mainly disposable plates.
Munchkin brought some of her Schliech animals with her and created elaborate stories with them. She had dinosaurs crossing the desert as well as stories of their extinction. To enhance the story, she actually made the dinosaur tracks in the sand in the wash behind our trailer. She also had herds of horses running through the desert sands. Needless to say, she had an enjoyable time with both her new (Christmas present) and old Schliech animals.
We did some exploration with the RZR and dirt bikes. Munchkin and D had fun riding together while I rested and read. Later, D road his dirt bike while Munchkin and I road in the RZR. We hit some crazy terrain that tested D’s riding skills and my driving skills. One of these areas lead us to this digger left behind.
We feel so blessed to live in an area where we can just go and camp for free and enjoy exploring right from our campsite. (ie: wherever we decide to park and camp as there are no designated sites.) It was nice to just get away for a few days. Now, we need to tackle putting away Christmas decorations and working on organization for the new year. Soon, we’ll be back in full swing for school, but for now, Munchkin will have a light schedule while we work on things around the house.
sounds like you all had a great time 🙂
