Be Yourself

Project 365 – #049 One of the things that I’m constantly impressing upon Munchkin is the importance of being true to herself.  It’s so easy to get caught up in trying to fit in or striving to please others.  Somehow, during that process, the true person within gets lost in the shuffle.  The person that the Lord made us to be starts to slip away. The funny thing is that while I sit here and try to teach Munchkin these valuable principles I am forced to reflect on how I am handling my own life.  What are my motivations for…

Charting a Course

Project 365 – #048 D and I are both planners.  We like to have a course charted in most if not all areas of our lives, but there are times when something happens and we’re blown off our planned course.  We’re currently dealing with some of those crazy storms right now.  (Lest friends and family worry… Nothing terrible is going on, but the storms are there just the same.) If you’re in the military, you’re familiar with the term Semper Gumby.  You expect things to be unknown.  Plans can change in the blink of an eye.  It becomes so routine…

A Breath of Fresh Air

Project 365 – #046 After many days inside, I finally ventured out – if only briefly.  I needed to get a few groceries, and D wasn’t going to be able to take us to get them.  His schedule just wasn’t going to allow it.  Munchkin and I headed out, and I prayed that I would be fine until we arrived back home.  The Lord provided. Our little outing went well even thought the lines at Walmart were horrid.  Munchkin graciously put the groceries away upon our return, so I could rest.  Such a sweetie. A little bit later, Munchkin got…

A Servant’s Heart

Project 365 – #041 This week has not been an easy week for us here at the Marine Corps Nomads household.  I’ve been down sick since Sunday.  D’s back issues have been flaring up again making moving around much too difficult.  (He’s still going to work, but, much to his dismay, he’s unable to exercise or do much work around the house. He’s been to the doctor this week for another “initial” appointment as they forgot to put through his original referral.  He has a second appointment tomorrow.  If you could pray that they’ll make some progress towards a diagnosis…

3 in 30: February Goals – Week 1

Posted in Christian Life, Family, Fitness, Homemaking, and Photography

Project 365 – #035 Since February is the month of love due to Valentine’s Day, my goals this month will be focusing on love. Since February is known as the month of love due to Valentine’s Day, I decided that my goals this month will be focused on the theme of love. As the month of January came to an end, I knew that I wanted to continue on with focusing on goals for my mental health, physical health, and my spiritual health.  These goals would revolve around my relationship with Christ, my relationship with my family, and my relationship…
