The Great Shark Rescue

Posted in Family, Outdoor Adventures, and Photography

Project 365 – #076 Last week, every day seemed to hold a new adventure.  Yes, we enjoyed walking the beaches and collecting various shells, but we also enjoyed being able to see rays, fish, and other sea creatures in the water.  A couple of mornings, we found sand dollars on the beach.  All of these things were fun, but our biggest adventure began with a simple walk on the beach…. Munchkin let out a squeal when she saw something on the beach.  She went running over and discovered that a shark had been beached when the tide went out.  At…

Late Night Conversations

Project 365 – #074 Have you ever noticed how kids seem to have some of the most complicated, in-depth conversations late at night?  Last night, we tucked Munchkin into bed, but I could tell that she had a lot on her mind.  Her thoughts were racing, and she was trying to get them organized and settled as she was tired.  D turned off the lights and headed back to our room. I was working on getting some of our homeschooling projects organized when I saw Munchkin’s long, slender fingers slowly push the door to our room open. She peaked inside…

A Week at the Beach

Posted in Family, Outdoor Adventures, and Photography

Project 365 – #073 Our trailer backed up to the beach, so we could literally walk just a few feet and be on the beach.  This was our view.  The campground is also a marina, so we watched many sailboats come and go as we strolled the beach.  While this beach was nice, we did head over to the other side of the island, so we could enjoy the rolling ocean waves.  While that side is just across the road, you can’t really stroll on the beach at that point due to the Navy Seal training taking place.  We went…

Under the Arches

Project 365 – #071 My blog has been on auto-pilot all week long.  Today is the first day where I am actually posting live since last Friday.  Why?  Well, D had a work conference in San Diego this past week.  Munchkin and I decided that we would tag along with D.  We packed up the 5th-wheel trailer and headed over to the CA coast for a week of camping on the beach. The weather was beautiful even though it rained a little while we were there.  The evenings were on the cool side.  The breeze coming off the water made…

Lego Art

Posted in Family, and Photography

Project 365 – #062 Munchkin really enjoys playing with her Legos.  While watching the new Lego movie, she created this fun piece of Lego art.  She thought it was pretty cool that she created it so it could spin.  She’s been asking me to take a picture for a few days, but I just got to it.  Perfect timing since it’s Lego Creation Thursday. Munchkin couldn’t think of a name for her creation.  She’s not even sure what exactly it is suppose to be.  She’d love to hear what you think it could be, or what she should name it.
