Review: Why I Give Activity Book

Why I Give Activity Book Description: How wonderful would it be if we could teach our children to be a cheerful giver from an early age?  Christmas is often thought of as the “season of giving.”  However, as Christians we want our children to be givers year round, not only at Christmas time.  This book is designed to help your child cultivate a heart of giving. About the Author: Corine Hyman is a Christian Clinical Psychologist who practices in Baltimore, MD. 2013 Ranch T-Shirts Designed by Munchkin

Posted in Family

I admit that I’m rather proud of Munchkin’s design for this year’s t-shirts for the ranch fundraiser. Every year, the ranch sells t-shirts to raise funds for food and medical care for the horses. This year, I was in charge of making the t-shirts, and Munchkin came up with the design. This is the back of the t-shirt. The front features the ranch logo. We used a bunch of different colors for the t-shirts as well as the color of the ink. It was a time consuming process, but if it raises funds for the ranch I think the end…

Animal Husbandry: Floating Teeth

Posted in Family, and Homeschooling

Every now and then, you run across an individual who has been doing something for many years that is willing to share his/her knowledge with others. Today was one of those days for Munchkin and myself. Early this morning, we headed over to meet up with a equine dentist so he could show us how teeth floating was done on horses. Each of our horses had their turn with the dentist. Munchkin even had the opportunity to give it a try on her horse. It turned into a fun, hands-on field trip that went along with what Munchkin is learning…

Baked Sweet Potatoes with Pecan Crumble

Posted in Gluten Free

I have a large bag of organic sweet potatoes that needed to be used up, so I thought I would make a healthier sweet potato casserole to use with dinner. When I ran short on time, I decided to jazz up the baked sweet potatoes with a pecan, coconut crumble rather than make the casserole. Normally, our family isn’t huge on sweet potatoes, but both Munchkin and D gave these baked sweet potatoes two thumbs up. I liked that they were not only easy to make but also healthier than a traditional sweet potato casserole all while tasting delicious. To prepare…

30 Days of Thankfulness: Days 6-14

Posted in Family

Day 6: I am grateful that the Lord gave me the ability to stay calm, cool, and collected today while dealing with a frustrating situation at the ranch. I am thankful that although I may not understand why things are happening, I know that the Lord’s got this. While I do pray that His will and my will are the same, I will praise Him no matter the outcome. Isn’t it wonderful that the Lord cares about all things in our lives – big or small. We can cast all of our cares/concerns upon Him and He will listen. We…
