Field Trip: Saihati Camel Farm

Posted in Homeschooling

We enjoy getting to know a new area by going exploring. When we read that we would be able to go to a working camel farm, Munchkin was pretty excited. The only problem was that we had to wait until October as they are closed to the public during the summer months. This weekend, the wait was finally over as the camel farm was open. The Saihati Camel Farm specializes in the breeding of Arabian (or one humped) camels. They also have many other exotic animals that they care for on the farm. We decided to just go on a…

Virginia Soaps and Scents Review

Posted in Reviews

The owners of Virginia Soaps and Scents are a homeschooling family with nine children living in rural Virginia. Their interest in soap making began with a history lesson and developed into an artistic passion. Their soaps are made with all natural oils – no chemicals. Each bar is hand cut, so no two are exactly the same. Upon receiving our review products, I realized that we wouldn’t be able to use all of the products that had been sent to us as we’re very sensitive to fragrances.  Since we really wanted to try out these natural soaps and shampoo products,…
