This was not any easy challenge for me as I don’t care to take pictures of myself, but I decided to bite the bullet and take on the challenge. I chose not to get “all dolled up” for the picture, but instead to just be me…
The Beauty of a Woman
author unknown
The beauty of a woman
isn’t the clothes she wears,
The figure she carries,
or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman
must be seen from in her eyes;
Because that’s the doorway to her heart,
the place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman
isn’t in a facial mole;
But true beauty in a woman,
is reflected by her soul.
It’s the caring she cares to give,
the passion that she shows;
And the beauty of a woman
with passing years only grows.
Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. She openeth her mouth with wisdom: and in her tongue is the law of kindness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. ~Proverbs 31:10, 26, 28, 30

I LOVE THE POEM AND PICTURE. Your picture is a classic beauty! It shows the beauty of a person without hiding behind primping, curls, makeup, etc…You are very elegant and I love your picture (but I already told you that!) 🙂
And BEAUTIFUL you are.
I know there were many people who had trouble with this challenge because they don't feel comfortable with photos of themselves and it was my hope that getting in front of the camera for it might make it somehow a bit easier the next time. After all, we Mama's are a big part of the picture but rarely find ourselves IN them. I am a big advocate of having little memories to look back on (and for our children to look back on) to prove we were indeed! THERE! 🙂
Your eyes are incredibly expressive and hold a certain power. The second verse of the poem holds very true to you. I really loved the poem you added.
I am so glad you participated, even though you weren't "feeling" it. I think it is great that you challenged yourself when you could have just skipped it. Good for you!
Beautiful photo, and I love the poem you have to go with it!
Just beautiful! I love the color of the photo and the softness of it. 🙂 So fun to see how everyone is doing with such a difficult challenge. DEFINITELY difficult as I don't think ANY of us like to take pictures of ourselves.
Beauty comes from within, and yours shines through. You don't need makeup or anything else.♥
Blessings,
Jillian

The only thing I would ask you to add, is a smile. I just love smiles, and am sure that yours is wonderful.
Thank you for your very sweet comment, on my blog.
Thank you to your husband, for being one of the Warriors, who stand ready to protect me. And thank you to you and your children, for standing behind him. My feeling is, that the whole military family, serves.
Gentle hugs,
