Assignment: How do you keep energized so you can get it all done? bouncy music? treat it like a workout? Do you use a schedule?, a housekeeping binder system? luck of the draw system?.. or is this an area where you need encouragement? Do you need God’s help to keep order and beauty in your dwelling place? Take this week to tell us how You diligently keep going with your housekeeping chores.
Hmmm…. Apparently, this is becoming the theme of my week. House work, house cleaning, organizing, de-cluttering. This is truly an area that I struggle with as I tend to have clutter around the house which makes the house look messy even though it’s clean. I’ve been slowly working on tackling this area.
I don’t have a schedule for cleaning. I vacuum the floor whenever it is needed. I can’t stand a dirty floor. It drives me nuts. I do laundry whenever needed – usually on the weekend (or more often when D is home). Dishes are done as needed. Other cleaning is also done as necessary.
When I’m feeling well, my house looks like it. When I’m not feeling well, my house suffers. Munchkin is learning how to help out, so that does make a difference. When D is home, he’s my awesome back-up cleaner. Only, he really likes to throw things away, so I have to be careful about what I leave out. lol!
This is yet another area where I really need to rely on the Lord to help me get things done. I also need to remember that I can’t just focus on my physical home, but also my spiritual home.
“But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, ad to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.” 2 Peter 1:5-9

When I was young we lived on the Marine base and had home inspections…do they still do those?
We’ve only lived on base once. They only did inspections when you accepted the house and when you left. Many bases are now going to privatized housing, so that is not run by the military.
That is great that your hubby helps out. Mine does too and he also likes to pitch stuff….I have had to do some garbage search and finds before. I like your choice of verse…I will use it this week in our diligence study. Thanks.
It really helps if you get in a pitching mood yourself. It’s easier to keep things neat and organized without clutter. However…it took me years to get to that point!LOL My hubby is also a great cleaner and he found it easier to pitch things. Over the years, I’ve joined his camp. 😉
It’s great that your little munchkin is getting into helping. That always makes things easier!
Thanks for sharing!!
I’ve got a great husband, too. I literally could never make it without him truly being my partner in this homeschooling thing. 😉
Your scripture was good for me today. Oh boy I REALLY hope the US doesn’t hand housing over to cizilians…that is what happen to us in Canada, housing prices went way up, and they don’t care about you needs, another whole topic for us.
I am just like you, lots of stuff, not not a mess. I didn’t go through our stuff when we move and they just pack everything…
I pray that your DH continues to stay safe and that you continue to do what you are doing the right thing for you and Munchkin tell daddy coes home.
It’s very hard when you don’t have your spouse at home. My hubby is a firefighter and he is gone alot. He had class from 9-5 this week on top of his regular schedule. I am worn out. I will be in prayer for you and your family.
In Christ,
Susan
