My Thoughts:

Your Family in Pictures is a beautiful book that helps moms, dads, grandparents, kids… create memorable family photos. Me Ra Koh walks readers through the process of creating beautiful photos step-by-step. She starts out with the basics to help set the stage for a successful shoot whether completely staged or relaxed. She then dives into how to take photos for different events including everyday photos, holidays, family portraits, tweens/teens, and family vacations and travel. Each section is then further broken down into more specific events or settings.

Me Ra Koh gives you the tools that you need to create great photos including tips for each type of event. She then gives specifics for each type of photo by talking about when to take the photo, prep for the photo (this includes recommended settings and tips for camera settings for both P&S and DSLR users), composition ideas, and how to best capture the photo. Finally, she gives an example of the photo shoot being described and includes the settings that she used on her camera to get that shot.

I personally really enjoyed the section on teens because it gave me some ideas for some photo shoots with my daughter. I can’t wait to try out some new techniques with her. I loved that this book is filled with stunning images with the camera settings to help get the creative juices flowing.

If you’re looking for a nice book to not only help you become a better people photographer but also give you lots of creative ideas, you’ll want to check out this book.
