Galapagos Islands Book Review

My Thoughts:

Darwin’s time at the Galapagos Islands eventually lead to his proposed idea of the theory of evolution due to what he saw. He saw many differences among the living creatures on this unique island and concluded that these differences would over time cause these creatures to evolve into different organism. Because of his well publicized works, the Galapagos Islands are often viewed as the home of evolution. The reality, when viewed through a Biblical lens, is quite different.

We now know that the creatures on the Galapagos Islands did adapt and change with their surroundings, but they didn’t change from one species to another species. A finch is still a finch even if it does have different characteristics.

Galapagos Islands: A Different View takes readers on a beautiful photographic journey through the Galapagos Islands, viewing the variances in nature through the eyes of people who believe in a Creator. The book begins with the Bible: creation, the fall, and the flood. It takes a look at not only the living creatures of the Galapagos, but also the landscape, the weather, the location, and more.

Galapagos Islands: A Different View is a conglomeration of writings by several well-known creationists and scientists: John Baumgardner, Lance Davis, Penney Davis, Don DeYoung, Danny Faulkner, Ken Ham, Steve Ham, Tom Hennigan, Nathaniel Jeanson, Jean Lightner, Jason Lisle, Tommy Mitchell, John Morris, Terry Mortenson, Donna O’Daniel, Michael Oard, Doug Oliver, Gary Parker, Roger Patterson, Georgia Purdom, Ron Samec, Roger Sanders, Frank Sherwin, Andrew Snelling, Jeffrey Tomkins, Larry Vardiman, John C. Whitcomb, John Whitmore, Gordon Wilson, and Todd Charles Wood. Information about each of the authors is included at the end of the book.

We enjoyed taking a journey to and learning about the Galapagos Islands from a Biblical viewpoint. The pictures are stunning and make us want to go visit the islands some day.
