My Thoughts:

I have always loved the story of Ruth from the time that I was quite young, but this new book, I am Ruth, makes the Biblical account of Ruth come to life with relevant details and beautiful photographic illustrations from Israel and Ruth’s homeland. It’s like reading about Naomi, Ruth, and Boaz for the first time. There is something special about seeing the real locations where events took place as well as representations of the people involved that draw you deeper into the story. The background information as well as cultural insights shed light onto often overlooked details of Ruth’s life.

I am Ruth isn’t just the story of Naomi and Ruth. It’s also the story of the lineage of David, of Christ. The Biblical accounts of Joseph, Abraham, Lot, Moses, Rahab (Jericho)… are woven into the life of Ruth and thus portrayed carefully within the storyline of the book. I am Ruth is a book that is sure to be treasured by many families as they teach about Ruth’s courage, dedication, love for Naomi, and passion for God.
