Awesome Science Yosemite and Zion

In season 1 of the Awesome Science series, we explored the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, and Meteor Crater & Petrified Forest with Noah Justice. The second season of the Awesome Science series begins with a visit to Yosemite and Zion National Park. While we haven’t made it to Yosemite yet, we have been to Zion, so we were interested in seeing Noah’s take on his visit to these two parks.

In Explore Yosemite and Zion with Noah Justice, Noah continues with his fun and informative presentation style as he compares the evolutionary views of Yosemite and Zion National Parks with the Biblical worldview of the same events. Noah makes learning about God’s creation fun – no stuffy presentations for him. He takes you along on his family’s “field trip” and brings learning to life. The video is a wonderful production with beautiful scenes and solid sound. Noah’s Dad, Kyle Justice, who produced the video has had his work featured on networks such as National Geographic and the Outdoor Channel. As a homeschool family, the Justices have gotten the whole family involved in the production of this series.

As with the other videos in this series, I believe that viewers of all ages will enjoy watching the dvd even though it’s a video presented by a teen for teens. His presentation style and comparisons between a Biblical worldview take and evolutionary take on the evidence really will make viewers think about how evidence can be interpreted differently based on your starting point – your belief system.

In this 40-minute video, Noah talks about:

  • How evidence points toward the rapid formation of granet at Yosemite.
  • Uniformitarianism vs a Biblical Worldview.
  • How the canyons formed and eroded quickly by flood waters.
  • How glaziers were formed during the Ice Age not long after the flood.

Viewers are encouraged to continually check scripture to make sure that the information being presented is Biblical.

The video has an available study guide which includes bonus activities, key words and concepts, fill in the blank questions, true and false questions, and a discussion guide for the various segments within the video. The study guides help viewers get the most out of the videos. The suggested bonus activities will allow viewers to dig deeper into the topics being presented. I highly recommend adding the study guide for a more in-depth study of Yosemite and Zion.
