Fitness Friday: ShapelyGirl Fitness Final Wrap-Up

Posted in Fitness, and Reviews

ShapelyGirl Let's Get Moving 2: Cardo Toning with WeightsI have joined up with some other ladies from the CWA Review team to form a ShapelyGirl Fitness exercise group for the month of October. Each Friday during October, I’m going to post updates on how I’ve done for the week as a way to be held accountable. My final post will be on November 2, 2012 where I will wrap everything up and talk about my experience with the ShapelyGirl Fitness program.

My month-long experience with the ShapelyGirl Fitness CWA team has officially come to an end. Will I be continuing with my journey? In a word, yes, but I feel that I should explain more to help you understand why this journey is important for every woman – larger or small. It’s not about a clothes size or a number on a scale. It’s about moving, getting fit. It’s about being able to do the things in life that you really want to do. Sometimes the journey is slow. There are struggles and hurdles to overcome, but it’s important to keep moving as much as possible.

Debra Mazda has a passion for helping women – especially plus size women – get fit. She was there herself and knows how hard it is to take that first step, to start building good habits. She wants every woman to achieve success with their fitness goals. Because of this, she created the ShapelyGirl Fitness program and dvds. She goes beyond just the fitness aspect and tries to help build relationships with the ladies involved with her program. Whether you are able to go to the gym to take part in her program or you just use the dvds at home, she recommends building friendships with others which can help you achieve your goals. When you’re feeling down, they can lift you up and encourage you.

Debra has put together a ShapelyGirl Fitness virtual fitness studio where you can download a fitness contract, use a calorie burning calculator, receive a tip of the day, check out some recipes, and/or learn more about Debra’s fitness journey.  You can also head over to the ShapelyGirl Fitness community forum to get helpful advice and encouragement from others. Need a little more encouragement? Why not check out the media portion of the site to here Debra’s talks about fitness and the ShapelyGirl Fitness program. You can even connect with Debra on Facebook and Twitter.

The video above gives you a glimpse into the workout that I’ve been doing this month. You can see how things went for me during Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, and Week 4. I had good days and bad days, good weeks and bad weeks, but the key was that as much as possible I kept moving. Unlike some of the ladies, I didn’t really drop inches or weight during this journey, but I did see my fitness level increase which was my personal goal in this. (I rarely lose weight when I start a new fitness routine. In fact, I’m known to gain weight. Muscle does weigh more than fat, so I’m sticking with that theory. Because of that, I was not disappointed about not losing weight or even inches. That will happen in time.) My higher fitness level really showed last week when I was able to work hard all day without too much of an issue. I know this was thanks to the ShapelyGirl Fitness routines that I had been doing. Was I tired and sore? Absolutely! Yet, I was able to accomplish the tasks which felt really good.

After a little over a month with the ShapelyGirl Fitness Program – Let’s Get Moving 2, I feel more fit. I loved that I was able to customize the workouts according to my needs/abilities. I appreciate the fact that Debra is available to help us achieve success with the program. It’s been nice going through this journey with 27 other ladies from the CWA Review team. As Debra says, “Fitness Comes in Many Sizes!” You just need to “Get Moving!”

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. ~Philippians 4:13~

It’s hard to believe that we’ve come to the end of the month-long journey for the CWA ShapelyGirl Fitness team. This week, members of the team will be posting their final thoughts about the ShapelyGirl Fitness program. We appreciated your prayers and support during this month of striving to get fit physically, mentally, and spiritually. We all hope that by sharing our ups and downs during this journey, that we have encouraged you to stop making excuses and just get started doing something to help you get fit. It’s that first step that is the hardest….
