I know that I’ve talked about Bountiful Baskets on a variety of occasions, but I’m going to talk about it again. Our latest basket included a nice variety of fall vegetables and fruits. The extra that I really liked this time around was the fresh herbs. I’ve missed cooking with fresh herbs, so this was rather exciting for me. I now have cilantro, basil, oregano, rosemary, dill, sage, and parsley. The kitchen smells so good with the cilantro, parsley, and basil sitting on the counter. The other herbs are making the fridge smell lovely.
One of the things that I really like about getting the Bountiful Baskets orders is that it makes me try out new fruits/veggies which broadens my cooking horizons. The newer pick-up location that I’m going to and volunteering at is a fun place thanks to the site coordinator and volunteers. While I’m not a natural morning person, I don’t mind getting up before the sun rises to volunteer and pick up our goodies. The volunteers have a good time talking as we get everything sorted and ready for pick-up.
For me, it’s always like Christmas when I open the organic boxes to see what is inside. Once the box is unpacked at home, the planning for the week begins. I normally wait until after I pick up the order before I do the grocery shopping because I don’t want to purchase something we won’t need due to the contents in the box.
I am so thankful for Bountiful Baskets and being able get organic produce at an affordable price each week. We certainly miss it when I’m not able to make it over and pick up an order. It makes me feel good to have a fridge stocked with fresh fruits and veggies. I like to be able to tell Munchkin and Daddy to feel free to eat whatever fruits/veggies they want and not have to be concerned with how much it costs to purchase it. It definitely helps with the budget. It’s nice to see Bountiful Baskets spreading out across the country and opening more and more locations. As soon as I find out where we are heading next, I know that I’ll be seeing if there is a Bountiful Baskets location nearby. **grin**
Thanks to Brenda for hosting the 2012 Gratitude Challenge.
Bountiful Baskets are certainly great. I wish they were in our part of the states.
