Two girls on a warm spring afternoon + Snap Fashion Jewelry = Lots of creative fun
Last week, we received a Snap Fashion Jewelry Studio kit from SmartLab Toys. Due to our crazy week, we didn’t have the opportunity to pull it out until Monday afternoon. Munchkin and her friend were happily playing with their American Girl Dolls when I slipped outside and told them I had a special craft for them. Their faces lit up as they totally enjoying doing different crafts together. They quickly checked out the idea and instruction book. This took them a bit of time as they decided what they wanted to create with the snap kit.
The kit comes with a snap maker, 16 fabric circles, 12 jewel of the month jewels, ribbon, 5 bases (for creating necklaces, bracelets, lockets, and much more…), 2 ring bases, 25 snap domes plus backs, a transfer sheet, connector (for connecting 2 snaps), tracing ring (to create your own fabric circles), a 5 ml bottle of glue, and a book filled with accessory inspirations.
Munchkin decided to start by making a ring while her friend decided to make a locket. They both were enjoying themselves, so it was a bit sad when her friend needed to go home to eat. You know those meals always seem to get in the way. **wink** After Munchkin’s friend went home, she came inside and continued to create. I found a few silk flower petals for her to use for her creations. This creative kit is definitely a big hit around here. One of the big concerns was whether there were refill kits available. (Unfortunately, at this time, there are no refill kits available, but they plan on making these available in the future. For now, you can contact customer service.)
The Snap Fashion Jewelry Studio kit is currently available through SmartLab Toys, Amazon, as well as other select retails for $24.99. You can save 25% when you enter the code BLOGBUZZ at SmartLab Toys from now until 6/30/11. While you’re over there, you may want to check out their fun downloadable freebies for kids and/or sign up for the SmartLab Toys newsletter.

Inside Out! The Human Body is the one that looks most interesting for my boys, but really almost any of the science ones are appealing.
