Sewing Room Organization and a Donut?

Basket of YarnProject 365 – #020

When I saw the Mommytography Shape Challenge for January, I decided that I didn’t want to search for something that fit the challenge.  Instead, I wanted to allow something to jump out at me, so I set aside the challenge and carried on with life.  It was always in the back of my mind.  I started to think that I wouldn’t have anything to show this month…

Enter in the cleaning of my sewing room – also known as the guest room.  You see, we have company coming on Friday.  We’ll be spending the week with Grandma and Grandpa.

Hmmm…  It’s Wednesday night, and I still haven’t finished picking up and organizing my sewing stuff.  Why?  Well, I’m trying to go through everything and get rid of things that I no longer need.  My problem?  I tend to take too long sorting through my things as I actually enjoy taking inventory as I go along.

Back to the cleaning…  As I’m sorting things into piles, I come across a several different kinds of yarn.  I place them in a pile, and then I glance over.  I just found my donut.  Yep, I found a donut while cleaning and organizing my sewing room.  Of course, I had to go grab my camera to take a picture.  Then, I got side-tracked and didn’t get back to the sorting.

Yarn DonutProject 365: January Shape Challenge – Donut

The shape challenge for this month was to find something donut shaped.  What do you think?  Did I succeed in finding a donut in my sewing room?

Which means, it’s now Thursday, and I really need to finish up that room.  Don’t worry Grandma and Grandpa!  We’ll have a comfy room all set up for you by the time you arrive!  **grin**

  1. Great job!! I think it’s perfect.

I spent all day cleaning out my laundry room/pantry overflow and the actual pantry! Ugh. But it’s done.

    • I still need to tackle the rest of my laundry room and reorganize the pantry. Company will be here tomorrow. Yikes!

  2. I like the black and white shot. I think it makes the “donut” show up better. Great job! I assume you crochet with the thread?

    • It’s meant for crocheting, but I don’t actually crochet. I inherited a good number of crocheting and knitting materials, and I’m working on the knitting part. I just need to actually sit down and do it.

  3. I have a lot of those hanging around but never thought of them as donuts! Good job! Crocheting is very easy… give it a try as well. Though maybe yarn is a better starting point than thread.
