Celebrating a Birthday: Off-road Style

Posted in Family, and Holidays

Today, we’re celebrating D’s birthday.  We’re starting off the day with monkey bread, and then we’re off to do a bit of off-road exploration in D’s truck.  We’ll be doing some hiking and some driving.  Munchkin is excited because she gets to show off some of her favorite places to Gramma and Grampa.  D is excited ’cause he gets to go wheeling on his birthday! A picnic lunch will be enjoyed somewhere along the way.  The cupcakes have been packed as we’ll be enjoying his birthday treats while out on the trails. Happy Birthday, Devildog!

Thankfully, Amy over at Mom’s Toolbox has addressed this topic on her blog post – Bible in 90 Days: Getting Frustrated Yet? She gives some great tips on how to keep plugging forward even if you’ve fallen behind on your reading. She’s also started…

My Top 10 Deployment Survival Tips

Posted in Military Life, and Thoughts

Every person is different when it comes to deployments, but there is always some common ground that most people go through while dealing with deployments.  Obviously, I approach this from the viewpoint of a spouse, but anyone can use at least some of these tips.  Deployments are never easy, but you can do it with God’s help. The Lord will ultimately give you the strength and comfort that you need to get through this deployment. Pre-deployment:  Paperwork – now is the time to make sure you have all of the documentation that you will need during the deployment.  Have a…
