Making Something Old New

Posted in Homemaking

Munchkin and I wanted seat cushions for our outdoor furniture, but we can’t afford to just go out and buy some new ones. I had found outdoor fabric for a really, really good price on clearance shortly after we arrived here. All I needed was some cushions. At first, I looked at the foam at the fabric store, but it was too expensive. I decided to head down to the thrift store to see what they had available. I was able to purchase these cushions and pillows very, very inexpensively. I decided that I didn’t want to spend a lot…

Sense & Sensibility Review

Posted in Homemaking, and Reviews

I had lost motivation to tackle unpacking and setting up my sewing area. There were a few things that I wanted to sew, but there wasn’t really anything that gave me that extra nudge to get it done. Now that this burden has been lifted, we are able to start really enjoying our new location. I can focus on turning this house into a home. This week, Munchkin has VBS (vacation Bible school) here on base.…

The Mean Mom

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

Apparently the following items brand you as a mean mom: Your child is required to do her school work and chores before she plays. Your child is not allowed to go into people’s houses when we don’t know them. Your child needs to stay within earshot/eyesight of us (for the most part) instead of going all over the housing area. Your child has a normal bedtime routine that doesn’t include staying out after dark playing. Your child doesn’t always get her way even if…
