BFS #113 – Finger Lickin’ Good

Posted in Gluten Free, and Homemaking

Assignment: Although I am not able to produce miracles, it sometimes feels like I need to when it comes to meal time. There are times when money is tight, groceries are few and I have to feed my family. During the holiday season, you might have so much going on that you need to make a meal quickly with as few ingredients as possible. This week post your favorite recipes that require six (6) ingredients or less. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
I couldn’t find too many recipes that I have that are less that 6 ingredients, so I’m posting one of my favorite Christmas goodies. My sister and I use to make these with my mom, and now Munchkin and I make them together. Munchkin and I are converting all of my recipes into a scrapbook recipe book. Here is the page for yummy peanut butter balls.

Peanut Butter Balls

  3. Melt chocolate chips in double boiler (or microwave) (add a little oil if too thick)
  4. Dip balls in chocolate, place on wax paper, and allow to cool. Store in airtight container.

You can never go wrong with peanut butter and chocolate! I tried a similiar recipe:
In food processor chop up a package of oreos until finely chopped. Mix in 1 block softened cream cheese. You will have to mix with your hands. Roll into balls and freeze on cookie sheet for 30-45 minutes. Take out and dip in almond bark or the melted choc chips like you did for this recipe! They are sooo yummy!

This sounds just like the recipe that my dear aunt gave us a few years back. Mmmm.

Wow. Six ingredients. I’ll have to give that one some thought.

I love your scrap booking idea. For my son’s 18th Christmas, I bought a ornate cookbook with all the blank pages and categories. I filled it’s pages with all of our old family recipes and all of his favorites. Knowing he would use this book the rest of his life, I wove much scripture around the edges of it’s full size pages. I also added much advice for the various stages of life.

This may sound like a feminine thing to do for a boy, but he now lives on his own and boys / men LOVE food, they LOVE to eat! Since he is a bachelor, he does all of his own cooking. 🙂 So God’s word and Momma’s words are in front of him a lot. 🙂 Some day he will most likely have a wife, and she can then benefit from these tidbits as well. God’s word and Momma’s advice is always universal and unisex. 🙂 Oh, and by the way, it was one of his favorite Christmas presents ‘ever!’ Our 28 year old daughter is still jealous. I still ‘need’ to make her one!

I pray you are doing well today. Rest, rest, rest. 🙂

Much love for a blessed day.
