Pumpkin Lapbook

We did a short unit on pumpkins in preparation for next week’s field trip to the pumpkin patch. We based this lapbook on the books The Pumpkin Patch Parable, From Seed to Pumpkin, and The Pumpkin Book. We made booklets for the Pumpkin Prayer, Pumpkins and Jesus, and The Inspiring Pumpkin that we found here. We did some pumpkin vocabulary. We made a booklet that covered the process of growing a pumpkin. We put all of the verses from The Pumpkin Patch Parable into a pocket. BFS #104 – Never Leave Home Without It

Assignment: In the memory verse Jesus tells us that He will never leave us, not even at the end of the world. He assures us in this verse that He will be with us and that means through everything we go through in life. Apiary Field Trip

Today, we headed out on a field trip with our homeschooling group to a local apiary. We had a lot of fun as the kids (and adults) learned more about bees, honey, and beeswax. I came home with 4 pints of fresh honey, some beeswax candles, and a honey cookbook. I couldn’t pass up the great deal on yummy local honey and candles.
