Since D has been gone, I’ve been looking for different ways to encourage Munchkin and brighten her day. She has also been helping out a lot around the house when I’m feeling under the weather, so I wanted a fun way to say thank you to her.
When we went to Target while on our trip, I saw this cute pink small mailbox in the dollar section (love that area!), so I picked it up. She loved it. It turns out that she liked it so much that when we returned home, she wanted to get one for me as well.
Now, we have our mailboxes set up in the living room at our family mail center. (We’ll be picking up one for D as well. We don’t want him to feel left out when he returns home.) Just like real mailboxes, we put the flags up when we have put in “mail” for the other person. It’s been a fun way to pass along words of encouragement or thank yous in a non-traditional way.
It works for us! Check out more Works for Me Wednesday posts at Rocks in My Dryer.
Thats adorable!
I’ve been thinking about how to organize our incoming mail, that would be perfect!
I like your idea about the encouragement as well, really cute 🙂
What a sweet idea! Hope you all are doing okay…praying for you while dh is deployed! Was your wordless weds photo from over there? Its lovely!
That is really sweet. I think you should repost this idea for Valentine’s Day.
What a great idea! I love this idea for keeping the communication lines open…thank you!
That’s a great idea! I saw these at Target, and was trying to think of a reason to get them, because they’re so darn cute!
Those are way cute. What a wonderful idea to share those special words that we don’t often get a chance to just say.
Hope the three of you have a wonderful time and I hope that it becomes a tradition that will last forever.
Many blessings to you and yours,
Your Secret Sister
That’s a cute idea!
