I use this easy melon preparation technique for most melons such as watermelon, cantaloupe, and honeydew. It’s easier to eat, store, and take on-the-go. It’s less messy than the traditional wedges.

Project 365 – #033 The right equipment makes hiking so much easier. Of course, being in shape also helps when you’re out hiking. **grin** For my birthday, D gave me these new hiking boots (Merrell Moab Mid GORE-TEX® XCR®). For Christmas, D and Munchkin gave me these Leki hiking poles. I’ve never used hiking poles, and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed using them last week while we were hiking. When I purchased the Cricut, Munchkin quickly started making her own projects and decided that she wanted to purchase her own cartridges for the machine. To keep everything organized in a small space, I created a Cricut Caddy for Munchkin. To start, I purchased the ribbon-dispenser SnapLock containers from Jo-Ann Fabrics on clearance after Christmas. I created a fun label for her caddy. Using coordinating cardstock that I laminated, I made dividers for the top level of the caddy to store the cartridges. One of the new things that I’m learning about this year is how to use essential oils. My goal was to be able to start using some natural remedies for some of the problems that plague us. It’s been interesting learning about the different oils and their properties. In time, I’m sure my collection of oils will grow. Oriental Trading Company has lots of fun different food picks which add a little fun to a simple wrap. By using a fish cookie cutter on the watermelon, I was able to create a fun, simple under water lunch for Munchkin. Using fun food picks and cookies cutters to make a fun meal works for me.
