Support Our Troops

Posted in Family, Homemaking, and Thoughts

Back in August, Alycia wrote about an opportunity to support our troops by making blankets for single Marines returning from Iraq. Since they’re returning in the same time frame that my hubby is leaving, I thought this would be a wonderful thing for Munchkin and I to do to show our support.

Well, we bought our material way back in August, but with everything going on around the homefront, we just made the blanket last week. Yikes! The main thing is that Munchkin and I worked together and got it finished.

Here’s how it turned out:

Katie (the Future DIL) made two of these. One is “Hers” – in her college colors and with the pre-printed team logo. One is “His” with the USMC Seal panel. They exchange blankets, switching off every time they see each other.

Blankets like these are tangible love! I’m sure the Marine that gets this one will feel the same.
