Monday Musings

Whew!! What a day! It was one of those days that was filled with ups and downs. Munchkin is still sick, so that explains a lot of it. We started back up with school again today after our little delay last week due to her being really sick. Overall, that went well minus a few “glitches” from not feeling well.

Munchkin has been really interested in learning more about formal tea parties, so we looked around for a tea set at some thrift stores. We didn’t have any luck. Then, I remembered that I had a box that had some of my Mom’s old china. I couldn’t remember what was in it as it had been years since I had opened the box. Much to my surprise, there was a beautiful tea set inside the box!!! What fun! It needs a good cleaning, but minus a broken saucer (and a missing saucer) it’s in excellent condition. It’s a set for 6. We should have fun learning with it.

Another great tidbit… I got my laptop back!!! It’s nice to have my computer back. Maybe I’ll actually get some new photos posted. I may still be a little scarce as we have company coming Thursday, so we will be busy.

Next week, Munchkin starts her homeschool soccer league. It will be her first time playing soccer so that should be lots of fun! She’s also taking a homeschool Art class and a Science class at the local recreation center. Needless to say, we’re gearing up for a busy few weeks. Her art and science classes are only 6 weeks, so we won’t be too busy for too long.

D is doing well and completed his Master’s class this past weekend. What relief to have that done; it’s been quite draining for him. He’ll finish his degree when he gets back from his deployment. His predeployment training is going well. We’ve been enjoying his weekends home. He’ll have a long weekend home for Labor Day!!!
