God’s Peace

Posted in Thoughts

Peace does not depend on our circumstances because peace comes from within, from God. My peace and my strength come from God alone. I could not be a military wife without my faith in God. He gives me the peace within that keeps me going from day to day. It’s amazing what you can accomplish when God is on your side.

The world around us is in upheaval. There is turmoil all around. Yet, as Christians, we can feel the peace and love God all around us. We can use the power of prayer to change lives. Can one person change the world? Maybe, but most likely not. But, one person can have an amazing impact on the world.

Have you ever met someone that exudes a sense of calm, peace at all times? It seems like nothing ever ruffles their feathers. Even if you don’t know that person personally, you want to know what makes them different. How can they react so calmly in times of chaos. Shouldn’t we all as Christians be exuding the same type of calm, peace at all times? We have the Lord on our side. We are saved and have an eternal home in heaven. We have nothing to fear.

For Christians to have true peace, we must be right with God. The truth is that our world will never know true peace because our world is a sin-filled world. We will never know peace as a nation because not everyone in the nation will be right with God. We need to think about peace on a more personal, individual level.

For me, finding peace really is a daily exercise. I have to come before God daily (often multiple times during the day) to seek his love and forgiveness before I can find peace. If I allow my circumstances to dictate my life, I will not have God’s peace in my life. If I am willing to give my life over to Him and allow Him to take control, I can know that peace that I seek in my life.

I am also here from the All for Women Carnival.

Peace is something that it took me a really long time to understand. For the longest time I felt everything had to be going smoothly in order for me to experience peace.

I know realize that only God gives us peace regardless of our circumstances.

    Thanks for this insightful post.
