Homemade Hammock

Posted in Homemaking

We received this hammock stand from someone who no longer needed it. I gladly took it as we’ve (munchkin and I) always wanted a hammock, but I knew that hammocks where not cheap. I decided that I would make a hammock. I just needed to find some inexpensive, but good material. I lucked out and found this material for only $1 a yard. I was able to make the hammock and three matching pillows for only $3.

I think it turned out pretty well. We had to buy some hardware to hang the hammock for about $5 or so. So, we have a brand new hammock for less than $10.

How beautiful!! I love to read your blog and am inspired by all the wonderful things you make!! Your pies also look delicious!! How I miss strawberries in this part of the world. They have them, but they are so very expensive…you can buy about 8 of them for over $5.00 !!! Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

What a FABULOUS deal! This is a classic one mans junk is another mans treasure. Good for you for envisioning something wonderful out of empty rods!

It is beautiful and turned out LOVELY. I can’t BELIEVE you got that gorgeous fabric for $1.00 a yard! That is amazing!

I found the fabric in the clearance section at Jo-Ann Fabrics. Looking back, I wish I would have purchased the rest of the bolt!
