Thankful Thursday: Separation

Posted in Family

This week has been an interesting week with so much going on. D left on Sunday for 2 weeks. He’ll be home for a few days, then gone again for another 2 weeks. Munchkin takes these things pretty hard, so there has been a lot of adjustment going on. We came to the new house to prepare it for move-in. So, we’ve been keeping busy. So, this week’s “theme” for my Thankful Thursday is being thankful during times of separation. 1. First and foremost, I am thankful that God watches over us each and every day. He never gives us…

Wednesday’s Wonderings

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

Today, we just took the day off from working. We needed a break. We just relaxed this morning (and ran out to get more masking tape). We ate lunch and then planted the rest of the bulbs. Munchkin played for awhile outside while I did the dishes and put away a few groceries. After playtime, we worked on catching up on her schoolwork. We’re a little behind, but not too bad (all things considered). Tomorrow, we’ll work on her St. Patrick’s Day lapbook. Tomorrow, we have to stay at the house because we have someone coming to take down one…

Before and After Pictures Kitchen

Posted in Homemaking, and Thoughts

Obviously, we don’t have our stuff here yet, so these are just before and after pictures of painting. I can’t wait until we move all are things in, so I can get to decorating!! Eat in Kitchen (don’t you just love this view? It looks out over our backyard and the water). Kitchen area (the area above the microwave was lime green. I painted it to match the black cabinets). Laundry room. Here’s the view down the kitchen into the laundry room. The laundry room was plain contracter’s white before.

Works for Me Wednesday: Kitchen Edition

Tupperware storage containers work for me. You can see my current kitchen set-up with all my Tupperware containers here. As a military family, moving is part of our life. Which means, organization becomes a necessity as you never know what size space you might be living in. Also, before Tupperware, it meant getting rid of most everything in the pantry before moving. Then, when you arrived at your new duty station, you needed to repurchase all of your staples. What a waste. But moving companies will pack anything that is stored in Tupperware containers. That’s right. No more throwing/giving away…

Tackle It Tuesday: Painting

Posted in Homemaking

We’re at the new house working and having fun. Ok, so I have a lot of painting and tasks to do this week, but for Tackle It Tuesday, I will be tackling this!!Yes, that is a painted on blue and orange “tile” backsplash. Now, the idea was a good one, but it’s got to go. So, today, we’ll be saying goodbye to the fake tiles and the lime green walls in the eat-in kitchen. If all goes well, I will also paint the attached laundry room… For the rest of the week, I will be tackling painting the lime green…
