Our Campsite at Picacho

The term campsite doesn’t seem to really fit where we were in Picacho. It was more of a camp location.  Just like when we went camping in Kofa, we just found a spot that we liked and camped.  The only cost involved for us was the cost of the fuel for the generator.  If it was cooler, we wouldn’t have needed the generator quite as much.  Yes, we could have gone old school and lived without power, but we did want to have fun. lol!  We turned the generator off in the evenings when it cooled down and opened the windows.

We knew that we wanted to try to find a location that offered at least a little shade.  In the desert, this is not always easy, but we had scouted out a few locations last weekend that we thought would work for us.  We had to drive very slowly with the trailer due to the terrain that we were traveling over to get to our choice spot.

Being near the wash, allowed some trees to grow taller in this location.  We had some shade.  To try to keep the trailer cooler, we parked it under the bigger tree.  D was able to go down into the wash and pull up to the bank to easily unload the dirt bikes and generator from his truck.  This is a prime location during the cooler months of the year.  The fire pits were well established and well used.  We did not have a fire this time around.

Puppy thought it was lots of fun to roam around and explore the different areas.  He also enjoyed just resting outside.  There were several times in the evening that he didn’t want to come into the trailer.  He just wanted to stay outside and relax.  It was quiet except for the sounds of nature which, to us, were very peaceful.
