MathScore
MathScore is an online math practice and assessment program for students between 1st grade and Algebra I developed by Steven Yang.  When Mr. Yang saw that many math educational software programs were heavy on the fun but light on the educational value, he set out to create a program that balanced learning and motivational fun.
MathScore randomly generates math problems that automatically adapt in difficulty based upon the student’s performance.  This allows each student to progress at their ideal learning pace.  The automatic grading allows students to receive immediate feedback on their work.
MathScore is intended to be a supplemental program, but it does offer some instruction in the form of a mini lesson and lessons.  In theory, it could be used as a complete curriculum if students did all of the lessons and mini lessons in conjunction with the problems.
Parents/teachers can start off with a demonstration video of MathScore, a preview of the MathScore Program, and a free trial to see if the program would work for them and their students.
Students need to start off with the CopyCat portion of the MathScore program.  In the CopyCat portion, students will work on their typing skills. The lessons are timed (although parents/teachers can adjust the timed settings), so typing skills are an important part of this program.
My Thoughts:
This is a solid, no fluff online math program.  Students will not only gain a good understanding of their math facts, but they will also be learning good typing skills.  The timed aspect may be a stress factor for some children.  If you are working with a laptop, this program will be more difficult.  The number keypad on a traditional keyboard makes answering the questions much faster and easier.  I like that Mr. Yang is making changes and updates with the program as he receives feedback.
MathScore is a subscription service.  The monthly rates are as follows:
1st Child is $14.95
2nd Child is $5.00
3rd Child is $3.95
Lump sum payment options that reduce the price for the first child and lock in that lower rate are also available.  If you go on vacation or have a break in schooling, you can put your account on hold, and you can reactivate your account with no penalty.  I really appreciate the fact that you will not be paying for the times when you aren’t using the account.

I received a trial subscription to MathScore for the purpose of this review.
No other compensation was received.  All opinions are my own.
