Keyboarding for the Christian School

Keyboarding for the Christian School is not just a typing product.  Yes, you begin the program by learning proper hand/finger placement for all of the letters, numbers, and symbols.  In fact, the first 29 lessons cover the routine typing practice that you will find in most basic typing program.  There are no frills – just good old fashioned typing practice.

The part that differentiates this product from other typing programs is that it goes beyond just the basics of typing.  You will learn how to vertically and horizontally format a document using scripture passages from Psalms.  You will learn how to do enumerated lists while typing the steps to a personal relationship with God. You will learn about the tab key, MLA and APA format academic reports, personal & business letters, envelopes, proofreader’s marks, and tables.  You will also have timed typing exercises (remember those from typing class?).

I personally appreciated having scripture as the focus for many of the lessons.  I like that this went beyond the basics of just typing.  Munchkin is truly enjoying this program and looks forward to it each day.

The one drawback is that your formatting on some of the tasks may be different depending on the program you use on your computer.  This could be a real problem for some people.

Keyboarding for the Christian School is designed for students in grade 6 and up.  It is available for $15.95.  There is also a Keyboarding for the Christian School Elementary edition designed for K-5 available for $12.95.  You can find samples of the program here and sign up for the newsletter here.

I love that you are homeschooling Munchkin, I really tip my hat to you, it is giving her such a learning experience & time with you 🙂 ~ one of the Marines that is stationed with Billy over in Okinawa was homeschooled, he actually called me one night and was quite put out by the fact that I had to work every day and didn't homeschool him, Ilaughe and told it him it was probably for the best because I knew him too well & we'd just play and laugh all day. He laughed & said , Mom I love you so much! Enjoyed your blog, good luck to Minchkin, I just know with you as her teacher she'll do well!
