Sweet Reward: Chocolate Chunk Muffins

Posted in Gluten Free, Homemaking, and Photography

Project 365 – #018 Sometimes, when you’ve been cleaning, purging, and organizing for some time, you need a little extra motivation to keep moving.  Today, Munchkin decided that she wanted something with chocolate, so I whipped up a batch of gluten free chocolate chunk muffins. The delicious aroma filled the house as we continued to sort through bags and boxes.  When the timer went off, I headed to the kitchen and pulled the muffins out of the oven.  After a short period of cooling off, we bit into the warm muffins.  Mmmm…. We worked some more before indulging in another…

The Season for Organization

Posted in Homemaking

It seems that a new year lends itself to reorganizing the house.  We’re already putting away Christmas decorations, and we’re on a bit of a break from the normal day-to-day routine.  It’s the perfect time to dive into getting things more organized.  After all, we do need to find new homes for the goodies that we received as gifts, and we need to say goodbye to some items that are no longer needed. Today, I spent some time organizing our storage closet.  The Christmas bins received new labels and many things were pulled out of the closet.  I set those…

Mabel’s Labels Review and Giveaway

Posted in Reviews

From household labels to clothing labels to allergy alert labels, Mabel’s Labels has a variety of labels for all of your labeling needs.  We were given the opportunity to review the allergy alert labels. If you have a child with food allergies, you know the concern of sending food with a child to different events.  I’ve made labels for Munchkin’s food items that she has taken to church events and homeschool events, but they only last for that single use. Mabel’s Labels allergy alert labels are both dishwasher safe and microwave safe, so they will last for repeated uses (on…

WFMW: Craft and Toy Storage

Posted in Homemaking

I try to keep lots of crafting supplies on hand for Munchkin and her friend.  The problem is keeping those supplies organized and easily in reach.  We had some of the plastic rolling carts, but they were always collapsing and breaking.  A few years back, we had purchased a couple of the Trofast system units from IKEA for storage of some of my things.  When we moved this time, I decided these would be perfect to store craft and school supplies. (The white stand next to the Trofast units is from our old bathroom, but it doesn’t work at our…

Works for Me Wednesday: Manual Binder

Posted in Homemaking

We had so many different product manuals lying around the house that it was crazy. Then, there were all the manuals that my husband had for all of his stuff in the garage. Needless to say, I needed to find a better way to organize them and keep them all in one location. I created binders (Garage Edition, House Edition, Electronics Edition) and put all of the manuals in sleeve protectors in the binders. (Ok, I’ll be honest. The only one that is completely done is D’s as his was first on the list. lol! The rest are in process…
