Worry about Nothing, Pray about Everything

Posted in Christian Life, Family, and Photography

The Bible tells us… “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Phil. 4:6 It sounds so simple, but putting that into action isn’t always easy. We give our cares, concerns, worries to the Lord, and then, for some unknown reason, we try to take them back. Why, oh why, do we do this to ourselves? When I have that “uh-ha” moment and realize that I’m trying to carry the weight of the world on my shoulders, I tend to do the little palm smack on the forehead…

Adventures in Puppyland: 1st Hiking Trip

Posted in Family, Outdoor Adventures, and Photography

We were thrilled when D decided that he finally felt up to hiking again as it had been a long time since we’ve been able to go hiking together as a family. Even when he was able to go hiking previously, due to his back issues, he was unable to even carry his own hydration pack. As we said goodbye to our beloved pet in December, we also felt the grief of not being able to take him out camping one last time. When we rescued Wiley and then adopted Wyatt, we were hoping that they too would embrace our adventurous spirit. This past…

Bittersweet Off-Roading Trip

Posted in Family, Outdoor Adventures, and Photography

Two weeks ago, we decided that it was time to take an off-roading trip. D felt that he could once again handle some of the jostling that takes place during the trip, and we felt that our new pups were at a point where they would do okay in the vehicle. We quickly learned that we were out of practice when it came to getting ready for our outing. There was a time where we could be ready to go in no time flat, but apparently, we are really, really out of practice. Yep, it had been longer than we…
