As we celebrate 16 years of marriage, I am so grateful that D is finally on the mend. Oh, he still has issues with his back and knees, but he’s able to do most things even if it’s on a smaller scale than prior to all of the health issues. It’s funny how I, to some extent, took for granted that he could do pretty much anything. If I needed him to move something or build something, he’d do it. It’s hard to believe 15 years have passed since D and I said “I do”. Time has passed. We’ve gotten older. We were young back then. Yes, we were young, but we had already faced hardship and loss together before we exchanged our rings. We didn’t look at marriage or life with rose colored glasses, but we did have hope, faith, and love. We would build our marriage on those building blocks.
