You… Complete Me

Husband and Wife

As we celebrate 16 years of marriage, I am so grateful that D is finally on the mend. Oh, he still has issues with his back and knees, but he’s able to do most things even if it’s on a smaller scale than prior to all of the health issues. It’s funny how I, to some extent, took for granted that he could do pretty much anything. If I needed him to move something or build something, he’d do it. (It didn’t always happen right away, but it got done.) Going through the health issues made me more grateful for those things that I always took for granted.

For quite the stretch of time, I was the one that had to do everything as he couldn’t physically do it. He wasn’t able to lift things, carry things, build things… He couldn’t even work on vehicles like he normally would. It was a difficult time period for us both. Even now, we get frustrated that he’s unable to lift things or do things that were previously easy for him. It’s been a learning curve that has tried our patience. It’s been hard to see him get frustrated at not being able to exercise in the manner in which he requires of himself. The progress has been way too slow for his liking, but there is still progress.

This past year has been full of ups and downs, but we’ve learned that we still work well together to accomplish goals. He really does complete me, and he says that I complete him. We work much better together than we do apart. We need each other to be the individuals that God wants us to be. We are a lot alike, but it’s our differences that make each other stronger. We balance each other out in many ways.

So, this year, as I say Happy Anniversary to my hubby, I want to thank him for being my rock and completing me. ♥

We will be celebrating 16 years this summer. I am so happy for the two of you.

My Rooster is on the mend also with sciatic and back issues. It is very trying. Especially since he is facing his 49th birthday on Monday and I think that is weighing on his mind too.

I hope you have many more blessed year.
