The Calzones turned out wonderfully. Both D and Munchkin really enjoyed them (which says a lot as munchkin can be picky when it comes to new things). Munchkin helped me make the calzones which ended up being a lot of fun. It’s always enjoyable when you can enjoy cooking with your child. This is a really easy recipe that begs for kid involvement. Here is an easy, but delicious recipe for Valentine’s Day (or any day). I jazz it up a little for Valentine’s by adding strawberries in a heart shape. Yep, another contest. Yes, I admit that I love contests and free stuff. The prize…. Your choice; blackberry jam, peanut butter cookies or homemade vanilla coffee mix. Head over here for the rules of the contest! Drawing to be held on February 13th. My entry into the contest is homemade Calzones. These are the same Calzones that are on my meal plan for this week. I’ll post an update when we get these made. (Hopefully this weekend, as I need to make some more spaghetti sauce first. lol!)

I found this recipe over at Kelli’s blog. It’s absolutely delicious. Thanks, Kelli! Fruit Filled Oatmeal Bars 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup quick oats 2/3 cup brown sugar 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 cup butter 1 cup of your favorite jam (we used peanut butter instead) In a mixing bowl combine flour, oats, brown sugar and baking soda. Cut in butter till mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Reserve 1 cup of the flour mixture. Press remaining flour mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 8×8 pan. Spread with desired jam.
