Baseball and Birthday Party

We woke to a warm, windy day.  The trees were swaying to and fro.  Dust devils swirled around.  The sun’s heat baked the red dirt on the baseball field.  The soft billowy breeze gave some reprieve from the heat of the sun beating down on the players and fans.  Shade was scarce.  Water was dearly needed.  The teams battled back and forth to the very end.  Hands were shaken.  Congrats were given.  More than one person walked away a little pink or red and feeling rather parched. Foto Friday Challenge: Architecture

I have to admit that I have nothing new for this week.  I just couldn’t get out and about to snap pictures of some of the interesting buildings and homes around here.  Instead, I offer some pictures from when we were at the Grand Canyon.  All these images were taken at the Desert View Watch Tower. Baby Birds

I heard squeals coming from outside. The front door flew open. “Momma, Momma… you can… come see… outside.”  I tell Munchkin to slow down and repeat what she is saying.  At first, I thought something bad had happened, but I quickly realized that she was super excited. The momma bird was off the nest, and they could see the babies.  She wanted me to grab the camera, so I could take pictures of the baby birds. Lunch Time Fun: Under the Sea

Oriental Trading Company has lots of fun different food picks which add a little fun to a simple wrap.  By using a fish cookie cutter on the watermelon, I was able to create a fun, simple under water lunch for Munchkin. Using fun food picks and cookies cutters to make a fun meal works for me.  You can see my spring fun lunch idea here.
