I heard squeals coming from outside. The front door flew open. “Momma, Momma… you can… come see… outside.” I tell Munchkin to slow down and repeat what she is saying. At first, I thought something bad had happened, but I quickly realized that she was super excited.
The momma bird was off the nest, and they could see the babies. She wanted me to grab the camera, so I could take pictures of the baby birds.
These little chicks were peaking out from the nest. Obviously, the momma bird has been sitting on these guys for a while as they have their feathers, and their eyes are wide open. I imagine that they’ll be leaving the nest sometime in the near future.
There were many kids (and parents) taking turns looking at these baby birds. It was quite the exciting afternoon/evening in our neighborhood.
How cute are they???? Can see why Munchkin was squealing. 🙂
Aww,so cute! Look like Baby Doves? I’m glad they have a nice home, in your yard. It can be a hard world, for it’s littlest ones!
