Names of Jesus Study

Posted in Holidays, and Homeschooling

I was trying to decide what we should do for our Christmas studies this year, but nothing really was coming to mind. We’ve done a variety of studies over the years, but I finally decided that we were going to go back and do another Names of Jesus study. Munchkin really enjoyed it when we did it a few years ago, so I thought it might be a good one to revisit. Because I didn’t want to go exactly the same route as before, I created some ornaments for the names that we’d be studying as well as some notebooking…

NuNaturals

I have to admit that I’m normally not one to use sugar alternatives other than things like honey or coconut sugar. I stay away from artificial sweeteners due to how I respond to them healthwise and due to their horrible aftertaste. My previous experience with Stevia hadn’t been that great, but I went into the review with an open mind as I am always on the lookout for good products. NuNaturals is committed to providing top quality products that taste good. I had heard wonderful things about their products from an online friend, but I also knew that I’d heard…

Cranberry Macadamia Nut White Chocolates

Posted in Gluten Free, Holidays, and Homemaking

I admit that I have a fondness for white chocolate even though I know it’s not the healthiest of treats. I rarely eat it which makes these treats extra special. I found some white chocolate chips inexpensively on Saturday, so I snagged a couple of bags. I decided to make these treats with some leftover dried cranberries and macadamia nuts that I had on hand. The measurements are approximate as I just added ingredients until I liked the results. Ingredients: 2 cups white chocolate chips 1/2 – 1 cup dried cranberries 1/2 – 1 cup chopped macadamia nuts 1/2 tsp.…

Posted in Reviews

A couple of months ago, I was given the opportunity to join a wonderful group of ladies, Moms of Master Books, who review family books from Master Books and help spread the word about not only the books but also the good news contained within. I’ve long been a fan of the books that Master Books, New Leaf Publishing, and Attic Books put out. Many of the books are wonderful creation resources, but even the books that are not creation/Genesis related are solid Biblically. I appreciate that the company has taken a stand and is not ashamed to spread the…

Reflections on the Cabin Flooding

Posted in Family

Time and again, we heard the same statements from the various people who came to the cabin after the pipe burst and subsequent flooding: Wow! You guys are way out here. I didn’t even know this area existed! I can’t believe how much work you did. You guys have really good attitudes about all of this. The first one always made us chuckle. It’s one of the reasons that we loved the property. It’s away from the craziness of the city, but we still have excellent neighbors who look out for each other. It’s something special to have a tight…
