Trip to Norfolk

Posted in Military Life, and Thoughts

Well, we headed down to Norfolk on Saturday to check things out. We had viewed a few houses that looked nice on the internet, so we thought we’d check out the area. Boy were we surprised by the neighborhoods. Many were quite scary, so we learned that we’re going to really need to be careful about where we buy. We also found that we’ll probably need to live a little further from the base in order to find something that we like that’s not crazy high in price (especially for what you’re actually getting). It is an old coastal community,…

Our soon-to-be new location

That’s right. It’s getting to be that time again that we are preparing for another move. We’re surprisingly heading to Norfolk, VA. We’ll be starting house hunting soon as it looks like it might be difficult to find a decent house in our price range that won’t be a commute for D. We may go over and look this weekend since it’s less than 3 hours away. We’ll see. D is doing research to try to find out what exactly he’ll be doing once he gets there. It will be an adventure, I’m sure.

Catching Up

Posted in Family, Homeschooling, Military Life, and Thoughts

Sadly, it’s been way too long since I’ve posted. We’ve been busy with different activities and unfortunately, some illness over the past month. November Highlights: November 4th was the Marine Corps Ball. Munchkin attended with us for the first time this year. It was wonderful watching the ceremony through the eyes of a child. The waitstaff was wonderful and made her feel like a princess. They brought her all of her own special food (even though that wasn’t part of what was “required” of them). All in all, it was a wonderful evening. You can see our picture on the…

Getting Ready for G’ma and G’pa Knepp

Posted in Family, and Thoughts

Grandma and Grandpa will be heading to our neck of the woods on Friday. We plan on going to the Evening Parade at 8th & I on Friday evening. I’m sure we’ll head over to Carl’s Ice Cream on Saturday and to the Officer’s Club for brunch on Sunday. Munchkin is looking forward to their arrival. We’re continuing our decluttering quest. We’ve been seriously sorting and going through everything in the house. Room by room, box by box, the house is in the process of getting re-organized. We figure we’ll get everything done by the time we’re ready for the…
