The Flowering Cross Review

Posted in Reviews

The Flowering Cross by Beth Ryan Young Katie and her family reach out to an old man, Papa Jack (deemed quite mean by most people in town) and show him God’s love through the actions.  In return, each year, he allows Katie to pick flowers from his beautiful garden to place on the flowering cross at church.  Every year, Katie hopes that Papa Jack will come to church with them.  Will this be the year that he decides to come to church? The Flowering Cross is a lovely children’s story that shows the importance of showing God’s love to others…

Baking with Wilton Giveaway

Posted in Homemaking, and Reviews

I grew up baking with Wilton products as that is what my mom always had for me to use.  I now have my mom’s Wilton cake pans and decorating tips along with ones that I’ve purchased myself.  Munchkin is growing up using Wilton products and will one day have her own Wilton set.  When I received the opportunity to try out some different Wilton baking/cooking products, I was thrilled.  Knowing that I cook and bake gluten free, I was sent the Cyclone wisk, the Pastry Blender, the Cake Lifter, and the Baker’s Blade. Deerfields Gluten Free Bakery

Deerfields Gluten Free Bakery is located in Illinois, but thankfully, for those of us that don’t live in the Illinois area, their products are available online.  (They are also available in select stores in other states.)  They will ship their gluten free baked goods right to your front door.  All items are baked in a gluten free oven, and no gluten flours are store on premises. Deerfields sent us an amazing sampler of some of their most popular items.  I was surprised by one of the ingredients they use in many of their baked goods – coconut flour.  I have…
