A Change of Pace

Posted in Family, and Military Life

For the past few months, we’ve been moving full steam ahead as we worked on the cabin and prepared for the upcoming move. Then the packers arrived to box up our household goods and move them into storage at our new location. Munchkin and I cleaned the house in preparation for the final move-out inspection. Munchkin attended her final TaeKwonDo classes and wrapped it all up with Ninja Night where she said a goodbye to her instructors and friends. She received some cards and nun-chucks as a farewell gift. It was a sad moment to be sure. On Monday morning,…

Military Move: The Packers are Here

Posted in Family, and Military Life

Today, our pack-out begins. The packers are here busily packing up our things. While I would love to say that I got everything done that I wanted before they arrived, I can’t say that. We did get through a lot of our stuff, but there was still a lot more that we wanted to purge before we moved. Going back and forth between here and fixing up the cabin kind of kept us from accomplishing all that we had set out to do. Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day 2013

Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day to all those who stand behind their Marine, Sailor, Airman, Soldier…. BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA A PROCLAMATION As long as there have been courageous men and women willing to protect our Union and our ideals, there have been extraordinary spouses at their side — patriots in their own right who serve and sacrifice in ways many cannot fathom. They are moms and dads who take up the work of two during deployments, shuffling their careers and packing up their lives whenever our Nation calls. They are dedicated employees at our…

It’s hard to believe that it’s time to start packing for our move. Part of that is because we plan on moving out of housing a bit early. The plan, which could change as it’s not set in stone yet, is to have the movers come in May, so we’ll be out of housing by the end of May. Daddy will stay in the trailer while Munchkin and I (along with the dogs) head up to the cabin. Daddy would probably come up there most weekends, but that all depends on what is going on. We haven’t worked out all…

2013 Silver Spurs Rodeo

Posted in Family, and Military Life

We’ve lived here for nearly 4 years now, but we’ve never made it over to the rodeo. It just never seemed to work out. Well, this year, we broke that trend and finally made it over to the rodeo. Originally, we had planned on going on Friday night for military appreciation night, but Munchkin really didn’t want to miss any of her TaeKwonDo class. Since we didn’t want to miss out on any of the action, we decided to go on Sunday afternoon instead. (D had some things he wanted to get done on Saturday afternoon.) It was a beautiful…
