The Making of a KTM Dual Sport Bike

Posted in Family, and In the Garage

D sadly said goodbye to his Yamaha dirt bike after the back surgeries as he knew that he wouldn’t be able to ride for some time. He also knew that he eventually wanted to have a dual sport bike (primarily off-road, but also street legal), and he couldn’t convert his particular Yamaha to make this happen. We set aside the money from his old bike, and he began some serious research during his down time to see what he wanted. Ultimately, he bike of choice was a KTM. The problem? A new bike was well out of the price range…

Learning How to do an Oil Change

Posted in Family, and In the Garage

Daddy believes very strongly that Munchkin needs to know how to do regular vehicle maintenance. Today, he decided it was time for Munchkin to learn to do a complete oil change on her truck. It’s the first oil change since getting the truck. One thing that we’ve found since Munchkin purchased the project truck is that regular maintenance was obviously not a top priority for previous owners. Daddy plans on changing that fact as he wants Munchkin to learn how to take pride in maintaining her own vehicle. Part of that process is getting to know her vehicle by reading…

Project Maize & Blue: Tailgate Repair

Posted in Family, and In the Garage

One of the first things we did when Munchkin got her truck was to strip out the inside. It was a painstaking job, but it will be worth it in the end. She felt it would be more durable and easier to keep clean. Daddy has been teaching Munchkin some of the finer points of stripping off paint and grinding off rough spots as they prepared the tailgate for the primer and first coat of paint.…

Munchkin’s Truck: Project Maize and Blue

Posted in Family, and In the Garage

Thanks to some monetary gifts from family as well as hard work on Munchkin’s part, Munchkin is now the proud owner of a project truck. For Christmas, D and I wrapped up a goody box filled with car care items for Munchkin. Some items were picked up for free (or close to it) after Thanksgiving while others were picked up inexpensively right before Christmas. On top, we placed a small box which contained a nice keychain that held the truck keys. When she realized that she was the official owner of the truck, she squealed with delight. It was a…

STP Multipurpose Motor Treatment #engineluv #CBias

Posted in In the Garage, and Reviews

I’m pleased to have D doing his first guest post today… When I first heard of writing about STP’s Multipurpose Motor Treatment I thought it was a good fit as I am always purchasing additives and stabilizers for my toys and vehicles. I had never heard of this product, so I was curious as to what it was. As it turns out, this product can complete several different things: fuel system cleaner motor oil treatment engine flush 2 and 4 stroke small engine fuel system cleaner I am continually purchasing fuel stabilizer for my generators (one for the house and…
