Lazy Days

Posted in Family, Homeschooling, and Thoughts

I’ve been dealing with a lot of headaches recently, and for me, the best medicine is a dark, quiet room. So, Munchkin has been having a lot of free time after her schoolwork is done. She’s been building forts, playing with toy dinosaurs, playing with Lego’s, playing with her dolls, and reading. Oh, I can’t forget all of the flips and somersaults that she’s been working on as well. It’s been raining, so there hasn’t been a lot of outside time this week. She’s looking forward to a nice day, so she can practice for baseball. I am blessed with…

Our Weekend

On Friday evening, homeschool baseball season began. Munchkin met her new coach and her teammates (currently all boys), and their first practice of the season began. Munchkin also found…

Want to learn more about colonial times? We can head to Historic Williamsburg, Jamestown, or Yorktown. Want to learn more about the Civil War? Visit one of…

Spring Has Sprung

Posted in Homeschooling

Our spring day started out a bit cooler than yesterday and quite breezy, but the day was a bright and sunny. We put together some food and drinks and headed out to our field trip. Our homeschool field trip group was having a field trip at the Organic Grocer. We started off by talking about organic gardening/farming versus conventional gardening. We then continued into a conversation about organic versus traditional food. The kids had an opportunity to play outside for a little while before we headed back inside for a taste testing of various organic food. We had delicious apple…
