Spring Has Sprung

Posted in Homeschooling

Our spring day started out a bit cooler than yesterday and quite breezy, but the day was a bright and sunny. We put together some food and drinks and headed out to our field trip.

Our homeschool field trip group was having a field trip at the Organic Grocer. We started off by talking about organic gardening/farming versus conventional gardening. We then continued into a conversation about organic versus traditional food. The kids had an opportunity to play outside for a little while before we headed back inside for a taste testing of various organic food. We had delicious apple juice (from a local grower), apples with peanut butter, and freshly popped popcorn.

All in all, it was a wonderful morning. Munchkin and I picked up a few items from the grocer and headed out to another health food store. We were in search of some gluten free foods that we wanted to try out prior to buying them in bulk. We were quite successful. Yum! We headed back home to complete our schoolwork for the day prior to planting a few organic seeds of our own.
