Cricut Storage Caddy

Posted in Homemaking

When I purchased the Cricut, Munchkin quickly started making her own projects and decided that she wanted to purchase her own cartridges for the machine.  To keep everything organized in a small space, I created a Cricut Caddy for Munchkin. To start, I purchased the ribbon-dispenser SnapLock containers from Jo-Ann Fabrics on clearance after Christmas.  I created a fun label for her caddy.  Using coordinating cardstock that I laminated, I made dividers for the top level of the caddy to store the cartridges. The next level stores the books for the cartridges.  Another level, which is not in the picture,…

Sweet Reward: Chocolate Chunk Muffins

Posted in Gluten Free, Homemaking, and Photography

Project 365 – #018 Sometimes, when you’ve been cleaning, purging, and organizing for some time, you need a little extra motivation to keep moving.  Today, Munchkin decided that she wanted something with chocolate, so I whipped up a batch of gluten free chocolate chunk muffins. The delicious aroma filled the house as we continued to sort through bags and boxes.  When the timer went off, I headed to the kitchen and pulled the muffins out of the oven.  After a short period of cooling off, we bit into the warm muffins.  Mmmm…. 3 in 30: January Week 2 Check-In

Posted in Christian Life, Fitness, and Homemaking

It’s hard to believe that we’re already 2 weeks into January 2011.  Last year seemed to fly by, and this year seems to be doing the same already.  With Munchkin being sick, we haven’t been getting much schooling done, but it has allowed me to focus more on the goals that I’ve set for this month. I realized this week that I have 1 daily goal, 1 weekly goal, and 1 monthly goal.  I did not plan this out, but it seems to be working for me.  I try to work on the monthly goal (homemaking) a little each day,…

Learning about Essential Oils

Posted in Homemaking

One of the new things that I’m learning about this year is how to use essential oils.  My goal was to be able to start using some natural remedies for some of the problems that plague us.  It’s been interesting learning about the different oils and their properties.  In time, I’m sure my collection of oils will grow. This past week, unfortunately, I’ve been putting some of the newly learned information into practice as Munchkin is feeling under the weather again.  Her allergies are acting up which means she has a sore throat and congestion.  We’ve been using the oils…

Gluten Free Chicken Noodle Soup

Posted in Gluten Free, Homemaking, and Photography

Munchkin’s allergies have really kicked in which means that she’s sick all too often.  Usually, she’s down for 24-48 hours, but this time, she’s been hit a bit harder.  I’m a big softy when she’s sick, so when she asked me to make her some chicken noodle soup, I couldn’t help but say yes. Quick and Easy Gluten Free Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe Ingredients: 3 quarts water 3 Tbsp gf powdered vegetable broth 1 grilled chicken breast, chopped into bite-sized pieces 1 package of gf Tinkyada brown rice pasta (I used fun shapes) 1 package of frozen mixed veggies Directions:…
