A Servant’s Heart

Posted in Family, Homemaking, and Photography

Project 365 – #041 This week has not been an easy week for us here at the Marine Corps Nomads household.  I’ve been down sick since Sunday.  D’s back issues have been flaring up again making moving around much too difficult.  (He’s still going to work, but, much to his dismay, he’s unable to exercise or do much work around the house. He’s been to the doctor this week for another “initial” appointment as they forgot to put through his original referral.  He has a second appointment tomorrow.  If you could pray that they’ll make some progress towards a diagnosis…

Menu Plan – Week of February 7th

I have gotten out of the habit of menu planning, so this week, I’m making the effort to get back into menu planning for my own sanity.  While we’re still eating home cooking each day, I’ve found myself rushing around more than I would like when dinner time approaches, so I’m taking steps to correct the unnecessary evening craziness. Handmade Heart Shelf

The free monthly project is just unfinished wood, so the child and parent can decide how they want to finish it.  I personally think it’s a…

Project 365 – #035 Since February is the month of love due to Valentine’s Day, my goals this month will be focusing on love. Since February is known as the month of love due to Valentine’s Day, I decided that my goals this month will be focused on the theme of love. As the month of January came to an end, I knew that I wanted to continue on with focusing on goals for my mental health, physical health, and my spiritual health.  These goals would revolve around my relationship with Christ, my relationship with my family, and my relationship…

Baking Day: Gluten Free Chocolate Cupcakes

Posted in Gluten Free, and Homemaking

When Munchkin is working on a recipe, I always encourage her to set out all of the ingredients that she will need prior to starting her baking/cooking.  This helps her read the instructions and allows her to check to make sure that she has everything that she needs prior to starting the whole process. Wednesday, she tackled making gluten free chocolate cupcakes from scratch.  She also make the homemade buttercream frosting from scratch.  She’s been getting much better at understanding and following the directions.  I’m really pleased with how the cupcakes turned out.  Yum!
