Project 365 – #141 What do all of these things have to do with each other?  They’re all great ways to get fresh fruits and veggies at a more affordable price. You’ll also be supporting local farms/farmers which helps the local economy. At a Farmers’ Market, you get to decide what you’ll be taking home with you that day.  If you’re a regular, you’ll get to know the vendors which may allow you to work out a few deals.  You’ll learn the best time of day to come to get the best deals.  (At our Farmers’ Market in Northern Virginia,…

Gluten Free Breakfast Sandwich

Project 365 – #139 D loves to have his bigger breakfasts.  While he’ll eat cereal, he would much rather have eggs, pancakes, waffles, breakfast burritos… You get the idea.  He likes to start his day off with a hearty meal.  Before his surgery, he would make his own breakfast burritos or omelets or heat up something I had already made such as waffles or pancakes.  Now, he’s not able to do the cooking – at least not yet.  The good this is that he’s not getting up really early, so I can make breakfast at my own pace.  **grin** This…

Project 365 – #137 As you can see from some of my recent posts (Apple Cinnamon Muffins and Frozen Banana Treats), I love to be able to use up any leftover food that we have.  I hate to see food go to waste.  For me, throwing away food is basically throwing away money.  That’s not to say that it doesn’t happen, but I try my best to make sure that I either use the food up or toss it in the freezer before it goes bad.  It’s pretty cool how many foods can be tossed in the freezer to extend…

Project 365 – #136 We have some apples around the house that are a little too ripe for just eating, but they’re perfectly fine for baking. I decided to make some gluten free apple cinnamon muffins with those apples. I just used some of Pamela’s baking mix as the base and added some cinnamon, diced apples, and a splash of almond extract to the muffin recipe on the bag. I wanted something easy and delicious. Munchkin and D were both thrilled with the treat of muffins. I must admit that they did taste very good with a little bit of…

Prep Ahead Meal Plan: Chicken

Posted in Gluten Free, Homemaking, and Photography

Project 365 – #134 Have you ever uttered a phrase similar to this: “I bought all of this great food, but we ended up eating out all week due to life”.  I think it’s fairly safe to say that most people have had this happen to them at least once.  You go grocery shopping and pick up all of this fabulous food.  You’ve got wonderful plans for all of the beautiful, healthy meals for the week.  Then life happens and you end up eating take out or junk food.  Your meal plan goes out the window because there isn’t enough…
