Our Christmas Trees

Posted in Holidays, and Homemaking

Yes, you read that right. We have multiple Christmas trees around our house. We have so much fun decorating. There is Christmas everywhere around the house. We have our large main tree in the living room.  Munchkin has taken over decorating the tree.  You know your child is growing up when all of the ornaments are no longer on the bottom half of the tree.  All I did this year was put the star on the top of the tree.  Before Munchkin was old enough to decorate the tree, I had those trees that looked “just so”.  Once she was…

Homeschool Group Christmas Party

Posted in Holidays, and Homeschooling

Yesterday, we held our homeschool group’s first annual Christmas party.  When I woke up, I honestly didn’t believe that we’d be going as I’m still not feeling well, but Munchkin really wanted to be able to go.  The main problem was that there was going to be a gift exchange for the kids.  I didn’t want Munchkin to be left out because she didn’t bring a gift.  I quickly dug into my “gift bin” and realized that it was almost empty and that I need to update it to have some gifts for Munchkin’s age group.  Thankfully, I was able…

Keepsake Christmas Tree Activity

Posted in Holidays, and Homeschooling

We started doing this Christmas countdown craft several years ago.  Each year that we’ve done the craft, the tree changes as Munchkin’s hands change.  This year, Munchkin’s hands were the same size as my hands, so the tree doesn’t have the same shape as in years past.  It tends to work best if you have the hands getting progressively smaller as you get toward the top of the tree. Usually, we add numbered ornaments to the tree as a countdown to Christmas.  This year, we decided we wanted to have more of a focus on Christ, so I made 25…

30 Days of Thanksgiving Wrap Up

Posted in Holidays, and Thoughts

Today is the final day of the 30 days of Thanksgiving. I want to thank Karla for starting this idea. Each day, no matter what was going on, I was “forced” to think of at least one thing for which I was thankful. That truly was a blessing. It’s so easy to take many things for granted until we start looking how much we really have in our lives. So, while this 30 days may be coming to an end, I don’t want to stop being thankful to my Lord and Savior for the many great things He has done.…

While You Were Sleeping

Posted in Christian Life, and Holidays

While You Were Sleeping sung by Casting Crowns Oh little town of Bethlehem Looks like another silent night Above your deep and dreamless sleep A giant star lights up the sky And while you’re lying in the dark There shines an everlasting light For the King has left His throne And is sleeping in a manger tonight Oh Bethlehem, what you have missed while you were sleeping For God became a man And stepped into your world today Oh Bethlehem, you will go down in history As a city with no room for its King While you were sleeping While…
